Dream small tennis
The ball ran from one side of the net to the other. A tiny little girl ran towards the ball with a tennis racket in her hand. The ball hit the opponent's court again with a sharp blow to the bat. Despite trying hard, the opponent could not cope in this journey. The star of all such great tennis matches is our Bangladeshi tennis player Masfia Afrin.
Due to his father working in Bangladesh Tennis Federation, he had to go and come to this difficult court, which he dreamed of since childhood. The four-and-a-half-year-old Masfia is playing tennis with her father's hand. The father also wanted the girl to become a player. Although not regular, Masfia's running could be seen on the tennis field with the bat while walking with his father. In 2010, for the first time, a small mafia participated in the Engineer Jabbar Memorial Khude Tennis Tournament organized by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation. Even if he doesn't win for the first time, the father can understand his daughter's dream. This time Masfia's tennis training started hand-in-hand. After a few months of training, he did not have to look back. In the same year, Masfia took the top eight place in the Shahjalal Islami Bank Tennis Tournament. In the following year, the runner-up in the national tennis tournament was the first of its kind. So he left the country and started his journey in the international arena.
In the consecutive inter-school tennis championships from 2011 to 2015, five championship awards in the doubles and singles categories went to Masfia. Through continuity, Masfia became the champion in the tennis competition organized by Runner Group in 2016 and the champion for the first time in the national tennis tournament. Breaking all previous records, he won the Champions Trophy twice at the Walton First Open Tennis Tournament and Euro Group Tennis Tournament that year. From the beginning of 2017, he became very busy with his sports. He had to wake up every morning and practice all day at the Tennis Federation ground. Besides, Masfia has continued her studies in a balanced manner.
In 2016, for the first time, Masfia took part in an international tournament. Seba won two matches but did not capture the final victory. At the end of 2018, the Asian Under-14 Tennis Series started in Bangladesh. There, Sajida Razi of Sri Lanka was selected as the best pair in the doubles category. Even though the team advanced to the semi-finals, there was a lack of hard work. So Masfia gives her mind to practice again to give her best.
Last month, Masfia Afrin took part in the ITF Asian Under-14 Development Championships 2019, which was approved by the International Tennis Federation. All outside Bagha teams take part in this event in Thailand. After playing with them, Masfia took a place in the quarter finals. Although he did not get any award there, the coach was satisfied with everyone's performance. After returning to the country, everyone was shocked to see the international results. Masfia's name rose to 32nd in the international rankings for girls under-14. According to the Bangladesh Tennis Federation, no Bangladeshi girl has risen so high in the last few years.
Masfia is doing very well in her studies despite the troubles of sports. After practicing tennis all day, Masfia took a break to listen to music. He spends his days happily mingling with everyone in the family. Inspired by his beloved father, he became desperate for victory on the tennis court. Putting a smile on my father's face is like a struggle. In addition to so many things, Masfia is present as a volunteer in every event of Kishore Alo. This year he has risen to the ninth grade. Masfia's tennis racket is running in tandem with the focus on studies. Although it is very difficult to manage everything, Masfi said that he does not feel bad to work hard to keep the smile on the face of his family and the people of the country. Growing up, he wants to promote the country through tennis in the international arena. We are also waiting for our little Masfia to become the best star of any foreign tennis field in the future.
