It is yet to be decided when the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha will be. It will depend on the rising of the moon. However, Eid will be held on August 1, government employees are going to get festival allowance or bonus. This will increase their bonus a bit.
The Finance Department of the Finance Ministry conveyed this view to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CGA) on Tuesday. The CGA office sought the opinion of the finance department on July 5. The finance department gave their opinion.
After the letter from the CGA office, Bangladesh Secretariat Officer-Employee Unity Council President Mohammad Moinul Islam said in an application to the Finance Secretary, '
The bonus of government employees will increase a little after the opinion of the finance department. One day before, that is, on July 31, if Eid, their bonus would have been a little less. Because, if there is Eid in July, everyone would get bonus on the basis of the basic salary for the month of June. Assuming Eid will be in August, now you will get bonus on the basis of July. According to the existing salary structure, the 5 percent annual increment for government employees has been effective for five years from July 1.
The CGA office had informed the finance department that it wanted to give Eid-ul-Azha bonuses to government employees with Eid on August 1 and July increments. Now the finance department also agrees. The CGA office also said that if the Eid ends on July 31, the extra money from the next month's salary or pension will be adjusted if necessary.
