'Haspel cut saw found at Fahim's house'

Tyres Denvo Haspil, 21, has been arraigned in federal court in Manhattan in connection with the murder of Fahim Saleh, 33, co-founder of Bangladesh's Share Riding app, shortly after midnight New York time.

A virtual hearing is being held in a New York court due to the coronavirus situation. Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Linda Ford presented the suspected killer, Tyres Devo Haspil, in court, saying electric saws and washing equipment bought by Haspil from a shop called Homedipo were found in Fahim Saleh's apartment.

Attorney Linda Ford told the court by video conference that the suspected killer's clothing, seen in the video captured on CCTV, was found at Tyres Haspel's Brooklyn home. In addition, the New York police investigation team has been able to identify Haspil through technology.

Attorney Linda Ford said there was strong evidence that Haspil was involved in Fahim Saleh's murder, adding that at least two identifiers had identified Haspil from surveillance videos before and after the crime.

Assistant District Attorney Linda Ford told the court that Tyres Haspel stole at least  90 from young technician Fahim Saleh. Saleh has offered to return the money in installments without going to the police or legal recourse against him.

The prosecution is not yet sure about the motive for the killings. It is believed that money laundering and personal matters were the cause of the killings. The prosecution said it was investigating whether Haspil had returned any money. It is being investigated whether this debt persuaded him to commit murder or whether he did so for fear of being reported to the police if he refused to pay back the money.

Judge Jonathan Svetki ordered Haspil's detention without bail. So far, he has been charged with second-degree murder by the prosecution. The judge ordered Tyres Haspil to appear in court again on August 18.

Police recovered Fahim Saleh's mutilated body from his apartment in Manhattan, New York City, on the afternoon of July 14. Initially, the murder was thought to be the work of an extremely professional killer, but police arrested the killer within 72 hours of the incident. Thires Devo Haspil, a 21-year-old former private executive of Fahim Saleh, was arrested by police on Friday morning, July 17.
