Torture the young man by touching the bike naked!
A few days ago, the whole world was shocked to see a video of Madhya Pradesh in India. Many have shed tears after watching the video of police torturing a Dalit couple in Madhya Pradesh to evict them from government khas land.
Another such incident happened in Karnataka. A Dalit youth has been stripped naked and beaten on the street as a 'punishment' for touching the motorbike of an upper caste person.
The incident at Minaji village in Talikot area of Vijaypura district of the state is being condemned all over India. The news came in the Indian media on Monday (July 20).
According to the police, the Dalit youth mistakenly grabbed the motorbike of the alleged upper caste person. In this 'crime', he was attacked by the associates and relatives of the said upper caste man. The Dalit youth was left naked on the street and beaten like a snake. The relatives of the Dalit youth were not spared from this racist-communal attack. They were also picked up from the house and beaten by the so-called upper castes.
Police have filed a case against 13 people after a video of the barbaric torture was spread on social media. Police say those responsible will be severely punished.
Leaders of human rights groups say that even though India has identified itself as a state of multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-sectarian harmony, this untouchability is still visible in society in the 21st century. This caste distinction is especially evident in the BJP-ruled states.
Leaders and activists of the BJP and various Hindu fundamentalist organizations who believe in their ideology are mostly accused of beating and torturing the Muslim minority and the Dalits. Civil society leaders have always demanded severe punishment for such heinous crimes.
