People from several villages appeared as soon as the helicopter landed

A helicopter of a private company made an emergency landing in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj due to inclement weather. Hundreds of people from several villages gathered in the field to see it.

The incident took place at Chaupakia playground in Naogaon union of the upazila around 4pm on Tuesday.


According to police and local sources, black clouds have been gathering in the sky since noon. People were waiting for the rain. Suddenly a helicopter flew over the village several times and landed on the playground. Hundreds of people from several villages flocked to the field to see the helicopter.


Babar Ali, organizing secretary of the Upazila Chhatra League, said, "Suddenly I saw a helicopter hovering in the sky. It later landed on the Chaupakiya playground. Within moments, people from several villages flocked to the playground to see the helicopters.

The helicopter of a private company called Meghna Aviation Limited had four or five passengers including the pilot. However, shortly after landing, it flew into the sky again.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarash Police Station Mahbubul Alam confirmed the incident and said, "I got the news that the helicopter had gone to Dhaka as soon as I got ready to send police to the spot."
