The photo was taken in the vicinity of Kaziranga National Park in Assam, India. As seen in the picture, the tiger's head and back were not only submerged as the flood waters rose.

Many animals in Kaziranga National Park in Assam have become helpless. About 95 percent of the park is flooded, including areas for tigers, elephants and other animals. Animals are taking shelter in different places in search of high places to survive from the water.

Every effort is being made to save and rescue the tiger, said P Shivakumar, director of the park. A committee has also been formed to monitor the situation on a regular basis. According to the latest data, there are about 118 tigers in Kaziranga Udyan.
